Reflection on EDTC22: Learning with Hope; Teaching with Joy!
There are a lot of students go in
school every day. Each student go in school with hope to learn proper values,
knowledge and especially the way how to get along with others, but each of them
been motivated to their teachers who teach with joy in heart and soul. Those
teachers make the class into a lively one where the students learn and also
enjoy in every activities they had done.
Each
teachers teach in this week has their own teaching strategy and activities to
make the class alive and to catch their students attention.
The first teacher introduced her topic through exercise where the
students are required to stretch their body to be ready for the exercises that
they will do. The teacher also prepare a music where the students follow the
steps lead by the teacher for the muscles exercises. The teacher also let the
students to prepare a short skit where the students may apply the various
exercises other than the places of school, gym and house.
Teacher 2: Wastong
Pagpapahalaga sa mga Pinagkukunang Yaman
The teacher start the class by having a group activity where each group will
choose 2 representative who will compete from other groups. The representative
will pic words related to the topic that will be discuss and will spell the
words alternately and the group that has least time will win. The discussion
from motivation to the end is good and flow easily. The teacher show the
importance of proper using of our nature and state some Philippines laws that
protects our nature.
The teacher introduced the topic by an activity called “Apat na Larawan
Isang Salita” but with a twist. She divided the class into two groups and
instruct to fall in line and the first person in line will see the pictures and
construct what the pictures want to express. The first student will pass the
answer until it come to the last student, and the answer will be write in the
board and the first group who write the correct answer will win. The activity
has pictures that shows the effects of technology (factories that produces
carbon dioxide and etc.) in ecology.
Teacher 4: Measurements
and Safety
The teacher lets the students try to measure by their own the area,
length, width and etc. of the box and has an experiment that showcase the
teamwork and apply the concept they learn,
through this the teacher used the learning by doing approach to increase
the retention of learning. I think the
teacher need more time to boost her confidence to stand and deliver the topic
beautifully in the class but she did well and follow her plans on how to
present the topic chosen.
Teacher 5: Effective
Leader
The teacher
used a very different style among the teachers, she assign numbers in each
students to make the students attentive and alive in the class discussion. The
teacher maintain the class atmosphere from the opening until to the last and
she can carry all her students and no one left behind even though the students
has their own multiple intelligence and learning styles.
Teacher 6: Reflection
of light in Mirrors
The
teacher used different approach in his teaching, he makes joke to make the
class alive and walk around the stage/class and make interaction between the
students. Through those things he make the class happy and alive. He provide
some commonly mirrors to let the students experiences the differences between
the 3 kinds of mirror and though the art questioning the students produce the
right concept between each mirrors.
