Passengers is about  two people named Jim Preston and Aurora Lane who awake 90 years before their starship arrived in the new planet where they will start a new life.







            Aurora Lane and Jim Preston are two of the 5000 passengers on a starship transporting them for a new life on a planet. The first few years of the trip is good but suddenly, there is unexpected thing happened to their ship that makes their hibernation pods awakes them 90 years before they reach their destination. Times goes by, when the two passengers are trying to reveal the mystery behind the malfunction, they are starting to fall in love with each other.


            Jim and Aurora discover a computer chips broken and holes that cause a multiple damage on the ship. They are starting to replace all the damages until they found out the major damage caused by a meteor, they try to vent the reactor through the computer but it failed, until Jim Preston found out that the reactor must be vented by opening it outside the ship. Aurora assist Jim, she manipulated the computer inside while Jim is in the outside that cause to damage Jim’s suit and starting to loose oxygen that causes him to be frozen. Aurora try to rescue Jim Preston but it’s too late.






      Chris Pratt as Jim Preston is the male protagonist, a mechanical engineer in the movie with a very ordinary life left in the earth and expecting a new life after the voyage.
            Jennifer Lawrence as Aurora Lane is the female protagonist, a writer with a rich and nice life left in the earth for this voyage.






          External factors or Environment – The environment makes the story more complicated and it causes the problems that Aurora Lane and Jim Preston encountered.






             Jim Preston manipulated the hibernation pod of Aurora Lane and awaken her because of too much loneliness in the ship.


            Jim Preston are still alive in the end by the autodoc (a computer doctor) and they start a life inside the ship.







Morten Tyldum was born on May 19, 1967 in Bergen, Norway. He is a director and producer, known for:
The Imitation Game(2014), 
Passengers (2016) 
Headhunters (2011).
